In order to ensure the preservation, usability and accessibility content for long term availability, there is a need for management policies and actions, called as Digital preservation policy.
Principle of Digital Archiving
Intellectual Property: Zibeline International is committed to provide access to digital materials while respecting and upholding the intellectual property rights of authors and obtaining prior consent.
Access: Digital preservation activities are performed with the primary goal of long-term access to digital collections.
Authenticity: It ensures that data remain unaltered and the original data is preserved.
Zibeline International Digital Archiving Policy
Zibeline International is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to ensure accessibility by converting and upgrading digital file formats to comply with new technology standards. We work in partnership with different organizations as well as maintaining our own digital archive. Zibeline International publications are deposited in and available from multiple digital archives around the world. To guarantee long-term digital preservation, content published in Zibeline International journals are deposited in the CLOCKSS archives. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) employs a unique approach to archiving (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) that was initiated by Stanford University librarians in 1999. Digital content is stored in the CLOCKSS archive with no user access unless a “trigger” event occurs. CLOCKSS is Non-for-profit dark archive which stores all publishing content. If content is no longer available from any participating publisher then CLOCKSS is able to make this available as open access.
